We are supporting a leading commodities trading and energy organisation seeking a Mandarin-speaking Application Support Analyst to join their technology team in London. This role will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support across critical business applications used by trading, operations and back-office teams. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business users and technology teams, ensuring issues are investigated, resolved and escalated appropriately while maintaining high levels of service. The position has a strong international focus, supporting users across Hong Kong, Beijing and London, making Mandarin language skills essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line application support for business-critical trading and operational systems.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for application incidents, service requests and user enquiries.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot functional issues, identifying root causes and coordinating resolutions.
  • Escalate complex issues to development, infrastructure or third-party support teams where required.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure business-critical systems remain operational.
  • Assist with system testing, upgrades, releases and change activities.
  • Maintain support documentation, knowledge articles and operational procedures.
  • Work closely with traders, operations teams, risk functions and technology stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident reviews and contribute towards continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Support end-of-day and business-critical operational processes.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in an Application Support, Production Support, Trade Support or Business Systems Support role.
  • Strong experience providing 1st and 2nd line support within financial services, commodities trading or investment banking environments.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in a live production environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate functional issues and coordinate technical resolutions.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and incident management processes.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, testing and change management practices.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to commodities trading, energy trading or investment banking environments.
  • Experience supporting ETRM, CTRM or trading platforms.
  • Exposure to EOS or similar energy trading solutions.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, front-office operations and risk systems.
  • Basic SQL skills and the ability to perform data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting international business users across multiple regions.
  • Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills. THIS IS ESSENTIAL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
