SGD Fire Protection Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at an exceptionally busy time.

You'll be responsible for overseeing multiple live projects, supporting site teams, maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Purpose

As a Contracts Manager at SGD, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple construction and passive fire protection projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role involves overseeing live projects, coordinating labour, managing site operations, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple live construction and passive fire protection projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Manage labour allocation and resolve day-to-day site queries to maintain productivity and programme targets.
  • Monitor material requirements, arrange deliveries, and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained on site while minimising waste.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Complete and maintain health and safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements, site audits, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure all projects comply with current health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Identify and resolve site issues promptly, implementing practical solutions to minimise delays and additional costs.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal staff to provide project updates and maintain effective communication.
  • Monitor project programmes and ensure milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
  • Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling to maximise efficiency.
  • Ensure a high standard of workmanship, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction throughout all projects.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior Site Management role within the construction or passive fire protection industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and site operations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
