An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Certificated Radiation Protection Adviser to join our friendly and committed company. You will be joining the team at a time of growth, allowing you to build networks and support your career progression and personal development.
SGA are an HSE approved RPA Body and provide full UK coverage delivering expert advice and training to a wide variety of clients within the small user sector (dental, veterinary, food, security, transport, non-destructive testing, private medical, pharmaceutical industry and universities). Our technical team includes provision for RPA, RWA, MPE and LPA advice that delivers advice to ensure safe working practices and legislative/regulatory compliance, supported by our centrally based admin team.
Permanent position. Full Time Monday to Friday 40 hours. Salary Range: £45,000 to £65,000 per year dependent on experience.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A current Certificate of Competence to be a Radiation Protection Adviser from RPA 2000.
- Proven experience with detailed understanding of current legislation and application to our sector including associated approved codes of practice and guidance notes.
- Full UK driving licence with a minimum of one year experience.

The day-to-day role:
- Undertake routine site visits completing document audits and monitoring/measuring of equipment and other types of work including Critical Examinations, Decommissioning.
- Delivery of client reports detailing action for ongoing compliance and supporting documentation radiation risk assessments, local rules, dose assessments etc.
- Delivering specialist radiation training including RPS and Radiation Awareness.
- This is a hybrid role which will include extensive travel across the UK and nights away.
Additional desirable skills, but not essential:
- Additional related certifications, Radioactive Waste Adviser, Medical Physics Expert, Laser Protection Adviser, DGSA (Class 7 awareness) would also be considered as positively supporting the application.
UK travel required for both client visits and office touchpoint/meeting days in at the main office based in Attleborough Norfolk. Relocation is not a requirement, and we welcome having staff in different locations around the UK. Salary is dependent on qualification and experience.
