Launched in 2020, Med Tech World began as a bold initiative to position Malta as a bridge connecting startups, investors, service providers, and thought leaders across the Medical and Health Tech space.

Five years on, we have grown into a genuinely global platform with operations spanning Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

To lead our UK & European growth, we are looking for a commercially sharp, well-connected, and self-driven sales leader who can open doors, close deals, and work hand-in-hand with our wider team to build something exceptional.

The Role

As Senior Business Development Manager, UK & Europe, you will own Med Tech World's commercial performance across the UK and European markets.

This is a senior, hands-on role built for someone who has the experience to operate independently and the instinct to collaborate.

You will not be managing a large team from day one.

You will be generating pipeline, closing sponsors and partners, and setting the commercial standard for the region.

You will work directly with the CEO and the wider sales and partnerships team, and your work will have a direct and visible impact on the business.

Role Description / What you'll Do.

  • Drive revenue across Med Tech World's sponsorship, exhibition, and partnership offerings for the UK and European markets, covering all four annual summits.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of sponsors, institutional partners, government delegations, and corporate exhibitors from within the European Med Tech and Health Tech ecosystem.
  • Lead the full sales cycle independently, from prospecting and outreach through to proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Develop tailored commercial proposals that match sponsor and partner objectives to Med Tech World's event portfolio.
  • Represent Med Tech World at industry events, conferences, and networking forums across Europe to build brand presence and generate leads.
  • Work closely with the partnerships and marketing teams to ensure a seamless experience for sponsors and partners before, during, and after each event.
  • Provide regular pipeline reports, revenue forecasts, and market intelligence to the leadership team.
  • Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities across the European region, including government bodies, trade associations, accelerators, and innovation hubs.

Location

Remote. Open to candidates across the UK and Europe, provided they are eligible to work in their country of residence. Relocation to our Malta HQ is also welcomed and supported.

  • What You Will Bring
  • Proven track record in senior sales or business development within the events, Med Tech, Health Tech, or life sciences sectors.
  • A strong existing network across European Med Tech, Health Tech, or healthcare innovation that you can activate from day one.
  • The ability to work independently without day-to-day direction, while remaining a strong and collaborative team player.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and closing high-value commercial agreements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Comfort operating across multiple time zones and markets simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe and internationally for events and client meetings.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and a disciplined approach to pipeline management.
  • Fluency in English is required. Additional European languages are a strong advantage.

  • Comfortable with variety and pace, no two weeks look the same across four summits, four continents, and a fast-moving team
  • A background in Med Tech, Health Tech, life sciences, events, or B2B sales within a high-growth environment is a strong advantage.

That said, a strong existing network, commercial instinct, and the drive to build something matter more than any single credential.

  • This role is not the right fit if you are looking for a structured corporate sales environment with long approval chains, prefer inbound-only pipeline, or are not comfortable working autonomously across multiple markets simultaneously.

  • The European market is a consistent and growing revenue contributor across all four Med Tech World summits, with a strong pipeline of sponsors, partners, and exhibitors closing quarter on quarter.
  • Key relationships across the UK and European Med Tech, Health Tech, investor, and institutional ecosystem are owned and deepened, with Med Tech World recognised as the go-to platform for the region.
  • The CEO and leadership team have full visibility across European pipeline, forecasts, and deal progress without needing to chase updates.
  • Sponsors and partners secured through Europe are returning year on year, with satisfaction and renewal rates that reflect a high-quality commercial relationship.
  • You have built trust, expanded your scope, and are on a clear path toward VP of Sales or Chief Commercial Officer as Med Tech World scales.
