SG Technologies - part of the Neo Performance Materials Group, is a global leader in the production of high-performance magnetic components and assemblies. Our products are shipped worldwide to high end automotive and consumer products customers such as Bosch, Caterpillar, and YASA. We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Materials Planner & Logistics Manager to lead our purchasing, planning, and logistics functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with operational expertise, ensuring materials availability aligns with production needs while maintaining cost control and supplier performance.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain purchasing processes, policies, and supply contracts
- Negotiate pricing and terms across the supply base
- Manage supplier relationships and mitigate supply chain risks
- Participate fully in the commercial aspects of new supplier development
- Ensure optimal stock levels for raw materials, consumables, and tooling
- Utilise MRP systems to improve planning accuracy and operational efficiency
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to align with production and working capital needs
- Oversee packing, storage, and on-time delivery to customers
- Lead and develop the Planning team while driving continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills and Experience:
- Relevant degree / CIPS qualified or working towards this
- Minimum 3 years of experience in materials planning, procurement, and logistics
- Strong working knowledge of MRP systems, Microsoft Office, contract law, and technical drawings/specifications.
- Effective team leader with excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and data interpretation skills.
- Must have a valid UK driving licence and ability to travel domestically and overseas
Work pattern: Full time 37.5-hour week Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Friday 8.30am - 2.30pm. After successfully passing probation, you will be eligible to use our flexitime system working around a core hour system with the potential to work a 9-day fortnight.
