SG Personnel are working with a market leading manufacturing business in Gateshead who are looking to recruit a Maintenance Electrician on a permanent basis. This is a superb opportunity with an established business who have seen significant capital expenditure over recent years. The role will work 12 hour shifts days/nights on a rotation within a cycle of production. The role will support manufacturing and attend all breakdown calls, repair equipment, maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and look for improvements to reduce manufacturing downtime.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure the plant and equipment are available and safe for use
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns
- Follow weekly planned maintenance schedule
- Complete works orders assigned
- Responsible for your own and everyone else’s safety
- Communicating / reporting engineering issues and resolutions to the Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Team
- Completion of shift log reporting work done and outstanding issues to be handed over/resolved
- Assist in other departments as required such as Production/ Engineering etc
- Experience in medium to large process environment
- Become a flexible team member
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes and standards
Key Process:
- Conduct electrical systems maintenance
- Identifying electrical problems and repair them
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment
- Inverter control – changing out, set up
- Programming and fault finding knowledge of PLC’s (Allen Bradley preferably)
- Ability to read/create/modify Electrical Drawings
- Write detailed account of shift issues and communicate to oncoming shifts
- Attend maintenance meetings when required
- Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping
Person Specification Essential:
- >5 years Electrical experience
- 18th Edition
- Knowledge and understanding of PLC control
- Knowledge of burner controls and gas systems would be advantageous
- IT systems & Microsoft office
- Can do attitude, resourceful, team player
- Ability to problem solve using a logical approach
The Shift Pattern:
A unique pattern covering 18 shifts each month during production runs. 2 days, 2 nights, 2 days off, followed by a break between production runs. 5.30 to 5.30 start and finish time.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary of £46405 inclusive of shift premium. Service bonus of 2% per annum. KPI bonus of up to 5% of salary paid annually.
