We are working with a well-established UK engineering group to recruit a Group Financial Accountant as the business continues to strengthen its finance function. Operating across major infrastructure sectors, the organisation delivers complex projects nationwide and has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and long-term client partnerships. This role will sit within the group finance team and will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and compliance across multiple group entities. Working closely with senior finance leadership, the position offers excellent exposure across the organisation and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements in processes, reporting and governance.

- Prepare and review statutory accounts across multiple group companies.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
- Coordinate elements of the year-end statutory audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Manage general ledgers across group entities and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Support the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Support compliance with statutory reporting requirements including VAT, PAYE, CIS and other regulatory filings.
- Work with external advisors on corporation tax computations and related reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across the group.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial information and group reporting.
- Contribute to improving financial processes, controls and accounting policies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency and consistency across the group.
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA).
- Strong technical financial accounting background with experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or group environment.
- Good understanding of financial controls, reporting processes and compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience within construction, engineering or infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to project-based or contract-driven businesses.
