We are working with a growing accountancy practice based in Tamworth, supporting a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals. As Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accounting, compliance and advisory services, working closely with senior accountants and managers across a varied client base.

- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Assisting with corporation tax computations.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Assisting with personal tax returns.
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information.
- Supporting senior team members with ad hoc accounting and tax work.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to agreed deadlines.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice is ideal but not essential.
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA / ACCA preferred.
- Solid understanding of UK accounting and VAT principles.
- Experience working with cloud accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with a professional client-focused approach.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team.
- Salary £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
