Head of Commercial Finance
Hybrid, 3 days per week in office, Walsall.
Permanent/ Full Time.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial:
- Lead monthly business reviews with senior management, providing rigorous analysis and challenges to performance.
- Assess market trends to pinpoint profit growth areas, develop pricing strategies, and optimize commercial processes.
- Identify risks and commercial opportunities; deliver customer insights to support marketing and sales initiatives.
Finance:
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, manage month-end/monthly reporting, and deliver variance analysis to inform leadership.
- Drive budgeting, financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and capital expenditure planning—including securing asset financing.
- Support audit activities, manage statutory reporting, and maintain robust financial controls and governance.
Procurement:
- Evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, manage demand forecasting, and contribute to cost savings while overseeing supplier risk and sustainability.
Systems & Processes:
- Lead ERP system improvement and process enhancements to elevate data accuracy, reporting speed, and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or QBE with experience in a commercial finance or leadership role.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to act on financial insight to improve performance.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office—especially Excel (complex modelling)—plus strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to understand manufacturing, stock, distribution, or hire-related processes.
- Quality-focused with excellent numeracy and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage relationships at all business levels.
- Experience in construction, plant hire, light manufacturing, or similar industrial/commercial contexts is desirable.
