As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for securing profitable new business opportunities from within an allocated region with flexibility for territory across the UK. You will be required to build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities, creating strategies to build interest from prospective clients and ultimately achieving on the business growth targets. You will also be involved in the onboarding of new clients, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure their smooth implementation. This is a highly autonomous role, supported by a management team who truly understand sales. Although support is provided, the role requires the BDM to be proficient and motivated at every stage of the sales process.
Your days will involve:
- Developing a prospect strategy for the assigned area, resulting in a collaborative approach for contacting and contracting of prospects.
- The delivery of profitable new business with an individual sales target for SG Fleet in the UK.
- Contacting prospects, preparing proposals for agreements and leading negotiations with the prospects.
- Delivering a strategic sales plan bi-annually noting the approach to enact the plan.
- Ensuring an agreed targeted prospect list is established and maintained in Dynamics/CRM, including all active opportunities noting an up-to-date Sales stage that delivers consistent and accurate reporting.
- Delivering a timely onboarding process for all new clients including handover to the relevant Relationship team.
- Helping to develop third party relationships with lenders.
- Preparing and presenting clear and concise deal pricing strategies as required, seeking relevant sign off.
Experience and skills:
- Current full drivers' licence
- Proven business development and networking skills
- Demonstrated experience of exceeding individual targets / KPI's
- Previous experience in a sales or account management role
- Demonstrated ability to present confidently and professionally in a variety of settings
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing, demonstrating good listening and probing skills
- Ability to understand customer's needs and consistently adapt products/services offering to attract and/or retain new/existing customers
- Tertiary qualification in Business Management or related discipline (desirable)
- Public Sector experience (desirable however not essential)
- LCV experience (desirable however not essential)
