SFR Recruitment Solutions are working with a fast-growing and forward-thinking construction business delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK, with values up to £1.5m. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator / Project Manager to strengthen their commercial team.
The Role
This is a key position within the business, responsible for producing accurate, commercially sound estimates while working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery from concept through to handover. You will play a pivotal role in analysing project specifications, identifying risks, and developing robust pricing strategies that support successful bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Produce detailed cost estimates and pricing models for fit-out and refurbishment works
- Carry out take-offs and quantification
- Identify project risks, gaps, and cost drivers
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and assess quotations
- Build and manage detailed subcontract packages
- Support commercial strategy and value engineering activities
- Provide clear cost breakdowns for project handover
- Collaborate with design, commercial, and operations teams
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ estimating experience within construction
- Strong background in fit-out, refurbishment or interior projects
- Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel and estimating software
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
Desirable:
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Experience with JCT contracts
- Knowledge of cost planning and commercial risk management
