SFR Recruitment Solutions are working on behalf of a leading manufacturer within the timber fire door sector to recruit an experienced Specification Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in fire door specifications and compliance to join a well-established and growing business, supporting major UK construction projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth by securing product specifications across a wide range of construction projects. You will build strong relationships with architects, contractors, developers and consultants, providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop specification opportunities across sectors including healthcare, education, residential, hospitality and commercial
- Deliver CPD presentations and technical seminars to key stakeholders
- Provide expert advice on fire door compliance, certification and performance standards
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, developers and consultants
- Identify and track project opportunities from design through to completion
- Manage enquiries and develop compliant door system solutions aligned to project requirements
- Support project delivery and convert specifications into commercial opportunities
Additional Duties
- Attend client meetings, site visits, exhibitions and industry events
- Assist with preparation of technical documents, door schedules and specifications
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipelines and forecasts
- Contribute to wider business initiatives through market and account insight
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in specification management within the timber fire door sector
- Strong understanding of fire door compliance, standards, and certification (e.g. FOA, EXAPs)
- Experience using NBS and CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
- Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Experience with estimating or door schedules would be advantageous
Location & Package
- UK-wide role with hybrid flexibility (home, site visits, and office attendance as required)
- Travel across the UK with occasional international travel
- Competitive salary up to £60,000 + package
