About the Role
As Principal Fire Engineer, you will take national responsibility for the delivery of fire engineering services across multiple projects and locations. You will:
- Lead the development of fire strategies for complex and higher-risk buildings
- Provide expert technical assurance and act as the senior point of professional judgement
- Guide, mentor and support surveyors and junior fire engineers
- Oversee on-site inspections and ensure high-quality documentation and compliance
- Lead discussions with Building Control, Fire Authorities and regulatory bodies
- Manage national travel to multiple project locations as required
Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiable)
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council
- Accredited Fire Engineering (BEng/MEng) or related degree
- MIFireE (or higher) professional membership, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years post-graduate fire engineering experience
- Proven experience delivering strategies for complex, high-risk or multi-storey buildings
- Experience working nationally with regular site and client visits
