Your new role: As Senior Quality Manager, you will drive the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives through an effective Quality Management System, fully aligned with the Company’s vision, core values, and behaviours. The role requires proven experience in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, visual management, standard work, root cause problem-solving etc) to optimise efficiency, workflow, and GMP compliance. The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in MHRA standards, capable of managing them independently, and instrumental in leading the company to full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the entire Quality team by providing strong coaching, mentoring, and clear direction, while effectively managing workloads and delivering targeted training to build a skilled, compliant, and high-performing function that aligns with business requirements and supports sustainable growth.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities relating to quality and compliance matters, when required.
  • Assist in site equipment calibration and facilitate facility maintenance and calibrations to be carried out on time and to the right standard.
  • Manage the change control system, monitoring and tracking of all change requests.
  • Maintain the deviation, complaint and CAPA systems and follow up on the completion of corrective and preventative actions where required.
  • Ensure that the products are released in accordance with licence requirements and GMP principles.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted appropriately in a GMP environment, ensuring that all QA support is provided for those GMP related operations.
  • Continuously improve the operating standards utilised across the site to achieve a continuous improvement culture.
  • Manage the process to review and approve master documents for manufacturing.
  • Ensure that all amendments of quality documents are processed, updated and maintained as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the working quality environment has all the correct and relevant documentation available to it to ensure appropriate practices.
  • Oversee the creation of SOPs by ensuring effective processes are in place.
  • Responsible for managing complaint handling, including recalls, procedures, investigations and responses in liaison with EMEA regional departments.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of market trends, recalls, and evolving industry and legislative activity, ensuring all relevant personnel are fully informed to drive effective performance and compliance.
  • Provide and utilise a suite of Management information and reports, including databases, deviation reports and so on, to support the performance of the QA function and monitor required follow up actions.
  • Lead the HACCP team and ensure all HACCP documentation, flow diagrams, and CCP charts are maintained and reviewed annually.

Qualifications: Degree level of equivalent qualification.

Experience: Proven experience as a QA manager for at least 5 to 10 years in an MHRA audited company. Preferable/familiar with pharma and food manufacturing environment. Candidate should be aware of the HACCP principles.
