We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to train to teach Chemistry or Physics with us at Brighton Hill Community School, in partnership with South Farnham Education Trust (SFET) Teaching Hub via the apprenticeship route.

Brighton Hill Community School has been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is a rapidly growing coeducational 11-16 Community School with approximately 1300 students. Our Science faculty is a highly ambitious and well-established team comprising teachers that are passionate about their subject and driven to support every student to make success inevitable. The faculty is well led and there are several experienced mentors who have a proven track record of offering excellent developmental support to trainees, helping to facilitate the best start to their teaching career.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching, receptive to feedback and eager to learn

  • Have experience of working with children or in a school setting
  • Hold a degree in Chemistry, Physics or a related subject

A clear vision for Teaching and Learning and Curriculum which embraces current research and creative practice.

Support and training that will lead to qualified teacher status (QTS).

A dedicated mentor, with protected time each week, working closely with you to support your development as an effective classroom practitioner.

Training both face-to-face and online with SFET, with protected time one day a week to support you with this training.

Access to weekly CPD sessions that will allow you to build your knowledge of effective teaching and learning and which complement and deepen your learning from the SFET programme.

Bespoke support from in-school subject specialists including our SEND, student wellbeing and behaviour and inclusion teams so you are equipped to support the individual needs of each student.

A robust and supportive programme to support Early Career Teachers once QTS is achieved.
