The Opportunity
A leading B2B distribution business is looking to appoint a Sales Data & Insights Analyst to work closely alongside the National Sales Director and wider commercial leadership team.
This is a highly visible role focused on improving how sales performance, customer activity and commercial trends are understood across the business.
The successful candidate will become the go-to person for sales reporting, commercial analysis and insight delivery, helping leadership teams make better-informed decisions around performance, opportunities and growth.
This is not a pure Power BI development role.
Power BI is an important delivery tool, but the real focus is on commercial insight, stakeholder engagement and translating data into meaningful recommendations that support business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Commercial Insight
- Analyse sales performance across customers, products, sectors and regions.
- Support the National Sales Director with reporting, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Identify trends, opportunities and risks across sales activity and customer performance.
- Provide actionable insight around revenue performance, customer behaviour and sales effectiveness.
- Support strategic decision-making through scenario analysis and performance tracking.
Reporting & Power BI
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and sales reporting packs.
- Improve visibility and consistency across sales reporting.
- Work with multiple data sources to create meaningful commercial reporting.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity across key business metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with senior sales stakeholders across the business.
- Attend sales meetings and leadership reviews where required.
- Translate business requirements into useful reporting and insight.
- Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and commercial visibility.
- Help drive a more insight-led and data-driven sales culture.
- Support ongoing development of reporting standards and best practice.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within a Sales Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Revenue Analyst or Data & Insights role.
- Strong Power BI reporting and dashboard capability.
- Experience analysing sales performance, customer trends or commercial KPIs.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
- Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work end-to-end from data through to actionable insight.
- Experience within a B2B environment would be highly beneficial.
