The Role
As a IT Solutions Engineer you'll take ownership of the company's internal technology function, ensuring our people have secure, reliable systems that enable them to do their best work every day.
Alongside this, you will play a key role in identifying practical opportunities to introduce AI into business processes, automating repetitive tasks and helping every department become more productive through intelligent use of technology.
This is a genuinely hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You'll be trusted to identify problems, propose solutions and deliver meaningful improvements across the business.
- This IT Solutions Engineer based near Birmingham will be responsible for:
- Managing the Microsoft 365 environment, including users, licensing, Exchange, Teams and tenant administration.
- Owning Share Point administration, permissions, document structure and retention policies.
- Managing the complete joiner, mover and leaver process.
- Supporting users with laptops, desktops, mobile devices and day-to-day IT issues.
- Managing Intune, device security and endpoint management.
- Maintaining networking across office environments including Wi‑Fi, firewalls and connectivity.
- Managing Cyber Essentials controls and maintaining security best practice.
- Overseeing backups, disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Managing suppliers, software licensing, hardware assets and the IT budget.
- Identifying where AI can deliver genuine business value across different departments.
- Establishing AI governance, security and data access policies.
- Training colleagues on AI tools and driving company‑wide adoption.
About You
You'll probably have
- Several years' experience managing IT within an SME or fast‑growing business.
- Experience with Entra ID, Intune and endpoint security.
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls, Wi‑Fi and business infrastructure.
- Experience administering modern Saa S platforms.
- A genuine interest in AI and automation.
- Experience implementing new technologies and encouraging user adoption.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, workflow automation or low‑code platforms would be highly beneficial.
Personality
Most importantly they are looking for someone who doesn't need to know everything on day one.
