I'm currently partnering with a leading consulting and advisory practice that is continuing to invest heavily in its CIO Advisory capability. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team that works directly with CIOs, CTOs, Boards and Private Equity backed businesses, helping organisations make better technology decisions, deliver complex transformation programmes and maximise value from technology investment.

As an Associate Director, you'll lead advisory engagements across a diverse client portfolio, partnering with senior technology and business leaders on some of their most important strategic initiatives. Your work will span:

  • CIO Advisory and executive technology strategy
  • Technology operating model design
  • Digital and business transformation
  • Enterprise technology reviews
  • Technology due diligence
  • Programme and portfolio assurance
  • Independent programme health checks and recovery
  • Technology governance and investment optimisation
  • IT organisational design
  • Executive stakeholder engagement and Board advisory

Alongside client delivery, you'll contribute to business development, shape new propositions, mentor consultants and play an active role in the continued growth of the practice.

This role will suit someone who combines strong consulting credentials with the ability to build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders. We're looking for breadth rather than narrow specialism. You'll have developed experience across multiple aspects of technology strategy and transformation, supported by expertise in one or two particular areas. You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience advising CIOs, CTOs or senior technology leaders
  • Strong consulting or advisory experience within technology transformation
  • Confidence presenting to Boards and C-suite executives
  • Excellent commercial awareness and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading complex client engagements
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in programme assurance, transformation governance or independent programme reviews would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

This opportunity isn't aimed at candidates whose careers have been focused almost exclusively on Cyber Security or Technology Risk, Data Privacy or Regulatory Compliance, or highly specialised technical disciplines without broader transformation or advisory experience. Instead, we're looking for well-rounded technology advisors who understand how strategy, people, operating models, delivery and technology come together to create business value.

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's most respected advisory teams, working with ambitious organisations across multiple sectors on complex, high-profile transformation programmes. You'll have genuine exposure to executive decision makers, the opportunity to influence major technology investments and a clear platform to further develop your consulting career.

Package: £100,000 - £120,000 basic salary, performance bonus, comprehensive benefits package, hybrid and flexible working - office locations in most major UK hubs, excellent career progression within a growing advisory practice.

If you're currently working within technology consulting, CIO Advisory or technology transformation and are looking for a role where you can influence at executive level, I'd be delighted to have a confidential conversation.

*Due to the anticipated volume of applications, only suitably qualified candidates will be contacted.*
