SF Search Partners are supporting a successful high growth PE-backed business that is looking to appoint its first dedicated M&A hire. The business has grown strongly through organic growth and is now looking to accelerate this through acquisition in a large fragmented market ripe for consolidation.

The M&A Director will be responsible for the following:

  • Implementing the group’s M&A strategy in alignment with the group's overall business objectives and growth plans
  • Identifying potential acquisition targets that align with the group's strategic goals and values; establishing and maintaining relationships with industry contacts
  • Develop the group’s M&A criteria. Screen and evaluate targets before progressing to the offer stage
  • Managing the pipeline of acquisition opportunities using the group’s CRM platform
  • Leading and managing the due diligence process, including financial, legal, and operational assessments of target businesses
  • Overseeing all aspects of the M&A transaction process, from initial engagement to closing and post-acquisition integration
  • Leading financial modelling and valuation analysis, and developing financing proposals
  • Developing and managing integration plans to ensure seamless transition and alignment of acquired firms with the group’s operations and culture
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports to senior management on the progress, challenges, and outcomes of M&A activities
  • Preparing investment papers for the board and the investor as required

We're interested in speaking with individuals who are comfortable with the above and that have experience working within acquisitive high-growth or PE-backed businesses and have a demonstrable track record of sourcing and delivering successful acquisition pipelines within a professional services setting. This role will need somebody to be able to travel to Birmingham two days a week.
