Are you a commercially sharp Finance Director ready to play a pivotal leadership role within a growing UK manufacturing business? We are partnering with an established and highly respected manufacturing organisation that is entering an exciting phase of operational improvement and growth. The business supplies engineered products and services to a wide range of commercial and public sector clients across the UK.

As the company continues to scale, they are now seeking a high-calibre Finance Director to partner closely with the Managing Director and SLT to drive financial performance, operational efficiency and strategic decision making. This is a hands‑on leadership role within a dynamic SME environment where finance plays a central role in supporting operational delivery and commercial success.

A bit more about the role....

  • The Finance Director will lead the entire finance function and act as a key strategic partner to the wider leadership team, providing strong financial leadership and insight while ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective commercial decision support across the business.
  • The role will take full ownership of financial control, reporting, compliance, audit and tax and financial planning & analysis, while also driving improvements in working capital management, cost control and profitability.
  • You will play a key role in supporting the company’s strategic growth plans, delivering insightful analysis and helping shape business performance targets and operational improvements.

Day to day you will....

  • Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring strong governance and financial control
  • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, board reporting and financial analysis
  • Provide clear financial insight to support commercial and operational decision making
  • Improve working capital management and cash flow performance
  • Support in strategic planning and business growth initiatives
  • Develop and enhance financial systems, reporting processes and controls
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors and banking partners
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance team

A little bit about you....

  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • A strong track record of financial leadership within manufacturing businesses, ideally within high‑growth or transformation environments
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance or Financial Controller stepping into an FD role
  • Experience operating within SME or mid‑sized organisations
  • Strong financial modelling, planning and performance management capability
  • Demonstrable experience improving profitability, cash flow and operational performance
  • Experience working in PE‑backed environments would be advantageous
