Position: Digital Marketing Manager - Maternity Cover

Contract: Fixed-term contract - 10 months

Salary: £37,312 FTE

Responsible for: Marketing Officer

Location: Hybrid (3 days per week in the Loughborough office, 2 days working from home)

SF Recruitment are working in partnership with a UK children's charity. The Digital Marketing Manager will lead the charity's digital marketing activity, working closely with the Corporate Communications team to plan and deliver clear, effective campaigns. The role will focus on using email marketing and marketing automation tools to deliver targeted, engaging communications, supported by strong use of data and insight to improve user journeys and campaign performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving digital marketing systems and processes, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and accessible for colleagues across the organisation. This is a collaborative role requiring strong relationship-building skills, the ability to prioritise high-impact work, and confidence in line managing and supporting others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage email marketing activity, ensuring communications are timely, relevant and audience-focused.
  • Support and advise colleagues in the effective use of email marketing and automation tools, including Pardot.
  • Use audience data and insight to improve targeting, engagement and campaign performance, drawing on systems such as Salesforce.
  • Plan and deliver digital marketing activity for key products, services, programmes and events.
  • Support major organisational campaigns to maximise reach and engagement through digital channels.
  • Ensure all digital communications meet GDPR, safeguarding, brand, accessibility and compliance standards.
  • Work alongside social media colleagues to support targeted paid campaigns where appropriate.
  • Develop clear, accessible marketing toolkits and guidance to support consistent messaging across teams.

Digital Transformation & Systems

  • Maintain and develop email marketing and CRM systems, including Pardot and Salesforce, working closely with Digital and IT colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Website and Digital team to improve key online user journeys, including sign-up, preferences and follow-up communications.
  • Contribute digital marketing expertise to cross-team projects to enhance systems, processes and user experience.
  • Stay up to date with best practice in digital marketing, automation and analytics, applying this where it adds clear value.
  • Improve and streamline marketing workflows to support efficient and effective delivery.

Effectiveness & Insight

  • Produce clear, regular reports on digital marketing performance to support understanding and continuous improvement.
  • Use data to understand audience behaviour and develop effective follow-up and engagement journeys.
  • Maintain high-quality audience data to ensure communications are accurate, targeted and relevant.
  • Support consistent approaches to tracking digital activity across products and services.

People Management

  • Line manage the Marketing Officer, providing clear objectives, regular one-to-ones, guidance and day-to-day support.
  • Contribute positively to team culture by modelling inclusive, supportive and professional behaviour.
