Overview
An SME business is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Project Lead to support a critical phase of finance transformation. The role will focus on FP&A reporting, advanced forecasting, and finance systems implementation, with direct exposure to senior leadership and the board.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, ideal for an interim with strong modelling capability and experience operating in fast-paced SME environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead FP&A reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles
- Build sophisticated, fully integrated Excel forecasting models, covering: P&L / Cash flow / Headcount and cost modelling
- Develop strong KPI reporting, management packs, and performance dashboards
- Produce clear fact sheets for senior stakeholders and the board, explaining: KPIs / Forecast movements / Operating efficiencies and performance drivers
- Analyse financial statements and provide insight to support decision-making
- Improve the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of management information
- Support and enhance finance systems capability, including Business Central implementation
- Act as a key finance contact for senior stakeholders, with regular board exposure.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience working within SME businesses
- Strong FP&A background, with advanced Excel modelling skills
- Demonstrable experience building complex forecasting and integrated financial models
- Solid understanding of P&L, cash flow, and cost drivers
- Experience implementing or working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Comfortable working autonomously in a change environment
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
