Overview
I am currently helping a client in sourcing a strong Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day IT infrastructure; making sure the Network / Servers are reliable, secure, and support the business as it grows. Working closely with the Group ITD and senior leaders, you’ll help deliver the IT roadmap while managing daily operations, projects, and third-party suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Running IT infrastructure across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user support
- Acting as an escalation point from the IT Support team
- Ensuring systems are secure, stable, and performing well
- Leading and supporting the IT operations and IT support team
- Helping deliver projects from a technical and from a project management front
- Putting practical IT processes and best practices in place
- Monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and driving issues through to resolution
- Planning and delivering upgrades, patching and maintenance
- Supporting the relationships with suppliers, contracts, and SLAs
- Tracking KPIs, reporting on performance, and improving operational efficiency
- Helping with IT budgets and resources
Ideal Background
- Hands-on experience in infrastructure, in particular Network and Server
- Experience leading or managing a team
- Strong technical knowledge across networks, servers, operating systems, and cloud platforms (Azure / 365, Hyper-V, Microsoft server technologies, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS)
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITIL is a plus)
- A practical problem-solver with clear communication skills
- Comfortable supporting everyone from non-technical users to IT-savvy colleagues
- Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and automation
Side Notes
Candidates who are happy to be onsite (Solihull) 5 days will be preferred but hybrid may be considered. Background / Experience working within Manufacturing will be preferred.
