SF Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing SME based in Southampton in their recruitment of a Financial Controller on a part time basis. 3 days per week or 5 days (reduced hours). Working in a small team, this role will report to the MD and oversee the Finance Manager.
Key duties will include:
- Prepare, review, analyse and issue accurate and up-to-date management accounts at agreed monthly intervals, including actionable recommendations for the management team. (These reports will support business planning and forecasting.)
- Reconciliation of all ledgers, bank accounts, VAT returns, management of the CIS and PAYE schemes, and calculation of sales agents' commissions.
- Prepare, review, agree, and issue the monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide all necessary information to support the year-end audit process.
- Monitor and report on company cash flow, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Recommend and implement solutions to maintain a healthy cash position, including managing metrics such as debtor days.
- Integrate newly acquired entities, aligning their management accounting practices.
- Prepare, review, gain approval for, and process payroll accurately, ensuring all changes are supported by auditable documentation.
- Guarantee timely and correct payments to staff.
