The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead and embed continuous improvement and business change across the organisation. Using recognised Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, the role focuses on improving processes, eliminating waste, and driving efficiency while supporting strategic objectives.
You will take ownership of improvement initiatives from identification through to delivery, coach teams across the business, and play a key role in developing a strong culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement and change initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and Value Stream Mapping
- Manage governance and delivery of improvement projects aligned to business strategy
- Identify and deliver performance improvements through data, KPIs and stakeholder engagement
- Develop and maintain a deployment plan for improvement activities, reporting progress and outcomes
- Deliver Lean Six Sigma training and support capability development across the business
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and develop a network of CI champions
- Monitor risks, dependencies and business impact of improvement projects
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned sessions
- Maintain awareness of continuous improvement best practice within the rail industry
Skills & Experience Required
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent)
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' continuous improvement experience
- Minimum 2 years' rail industry experience
- Minimum 2 years' health & safety experience
- Quality management system auditing experience (or willingness to work towards)
