SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing business in Coventry to recruit a Supply Chain Manager.
The business is well diversifeid across a range of industries; currently a very exciting time to join this acqusitive business with new projects currently being rolled out to support new customers.
We are looking for someone who can lead the end to end supply chain function (Purchasing, planning, logistics).
There is currently an emphasis on improving the MRP system, aswell as extracting further value out of the supplier base/purchasing process.
Role Purpose
Lead the purchasing and supply chain requirements of the business, including the development of the supply base, the improvement of management systems in planning and inventory control, and in the planning of production processes and resources.
Main Duties
- Implement supply chain strategies; planning and tracking of goods from origin to the point of use and the post manufacturing delivery of goods to customers
- Develop effective supplier relationships, negotiating terms and prices plus monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices
- Develop effective customer relationships and ensuring adherence to cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Support effective business planning, converting customer forecast and demand into business plans.
- Manage production and resource planning to optimise plant effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage effective levels of inventory, inventory accuracy and product movement and storage.
- Develop computerised systems to support sourcing, purchasing, logistics and business management.
- Maintain departmental processes and procedures in-line with TS16949, ISO9001 and ensure compliance to the requirements of Health and Safety
- Support the training and development of associates and manage performance of the individuals and the overall supply team.
Requirements & Skills
- Qualifications in supply chain, logistics or purchasing, or other business-related discipline with significant relevant experience. CIPS Wadvantage.
- Effective project management, time management and communication skills
- Strong planning skills in both materials' procurement, production, and resource management
- Be quality driven and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have expertise in the development/implementation of MRP systems.
- Excellent leadership and team working skills - the ability to work with internal cross functional teams and external clients and customers
- Be a people person as the last few people in this role have been poor at staff motivation, management and empowerment
