About the Role
We are seeking an immediately available Assistant Management Accountant for a temporary assignment based in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to join a dynamic and supportive finance team within a well-established organisation.
You will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager with management accounts preparation, month-end reporting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an office-based environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and possess excellent Excel and accounting system skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
Balance sheet reconciliations
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain and update financial records and systems
Assist with variance analysis and budget monitoring
Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries
Support audit preparation and provide relevant documentation
Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by the Finance Manager
Key Requirements
Immediately available or available within 1 week
Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or qualified by experience
Previous experience in a similar management accounts or assistant accountant role
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
