Head of IT

Working with a leading national brand in their search for a Head of IT to lead their projects and implementations as well as manage offshore 3rd party resource. This is a permanent role, based in Birmingham 2-3 days a week on site with the rest from home paying £80-£90,000 + benefits.

Role Purpose

1. Drive transformational change through the business enabled by appropriate systems and processes.
2. Provide senior strategic leadership, direction, and management of the IT function whilst working closely on the projects.
3. Develop the IT Strategy alongside the delivery of a transformational business change project.
4. Plan and deliver IT solutions to the business.
5. Develop and deploy a suite of high quality and robust IT operational services and solutions.
6. Manage key stakeholder and external supplier relationships for the benefit and delivery of IT services, delivered through visible KPI metrics.

Key Skills, Experience and Knowledge

1. Excellent interpersonal skills and team leadership, including understanding how to create a strong, effective, and professional IT team.
2. Understanding of ERP, MRP, MES systems, within manufacturing (advantageous).
3. Understanding of modern technologies and processes covering the spectrum of IT activities required to operate a processing / manufacturing business efficiently, including e-commerce and digital strategies for B2B and B2C channels.
4. Experience of effective senior leadership and the management of a hybrid internal and outsourced IT services.
5. Experience of running a multi-function, multi-year transformational change project enabled by IT systems and processes.
6. Demonstrable track record of strategy development and deployment.
7. Ability to build strong relationships based on integrity, trust, and respected judgement.
8. Strong influencing skills at both board and senior management level.
9. Flexible with the ability to prioritise effectively and to work in a fast-paced environment.
10. Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context.
11. Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
12. Innovative and ability to challenge the status-quo.
