SF Recruitment are supporting a leading organisation with the recruitment of a Category Manager. This is a key permanent role within the procurement function, offering a unique opportunity to support and lead on end-to-end sourcing activity.
The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering procurement strategies, leading tender processes, and establishing robust supplier contracts. The role is critical in ensuring commercial value, supplier performance, and compliance with internal governance and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead on procurement strategy development for certain categories
-Manage tendering activity from start to finish in accordance with internal policies and public procurement regulations
-Draft and negotiate supplier agreements ensuring strong commercial outcomes
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure service delivery and compliance
-Monitor and manage supplier performance against contractual obligations
-Maintain contract records and ensure up-to-date governance
-Support the delivery of procurement KPIs and sustainability initiatives
Skills and Experience:
-CIPS qualified or working towards (Desirable)
-Strong background in public or regulated procurement environments
-Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement processes
-Skilled in contract development and commercial negotiations
-Comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities
-Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
-Strong analytical ability and systems experience (ERP and e-procurement platforms)
