Are you a HGV Technician / Trailer Technician who is looking for a new office role? Our client is located in Leicester, and is the UK's premier producer of trailer axles and suspension systems. As a subsidiary of this company, a global leader in running gear manufacturing since 1898, we operate 16 production facilities worldwide and serve customers through 20 aftermarket distributors.

Role Overview:

Join our Engineering Team in a pivotal role directly supporting our Senior Engineer - Braking Systems. You will focus on EBS (Electronic Braking Systems), EBPMS (Electronic Braking Performance Monitoring Systems), and Telematics, providing critical support and training to trailer builders, fleet customers, and end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Engineer - Braking Systems on project initiatives.
  • Deliver comprehensive training and technical support to trailer builders, fleets, and end users regarding EBS, EBPMS, and Telematics systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide direct support to ensure smooth operation of braking systems.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and organizational guidelines (e.g., DVSA, DfT) impacting the commercial vehicle sector.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of Category O (HGV trailer).
  • Methodical approach to fault-finding and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills to engage professionally with customers and suppliers across all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
  • HGV mechanic training or technical qualifications such as HNC/HND are preferred but not required.
