Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Nottingham
Shift Pattern: 3-2-2, 12-hour rotating days/nights (Panama shift pattern)

SF Engineering are looking for a proactive and highly skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients engineering team. Our client, a household name, are one of the UK\βs most established and trusted employers, with a long-standing reputation for innovation, growth, and opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), breakdown response, repair, and continuous improvement support to our Logistics Warehousing facilities. The role will involve working on a variety of automated systems, including pallet and tote box cranes, lifts, transfer cars, and conveyor networks, ensuring all equipment operates at optimal efficiency.
About the role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be a key player in our 7-man team, providing engineering support across multiple interconnected automated logistics facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
β Planned Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Ensuring all materials handling equipment and facilities are maintained, repaired, and continuously improved to meet availability expectations.
β Self-Supervision: You will work largely unsupervised, prioritizing tasks effectively and ensuring that customer requirements are met in an efficient, high-quality manner.
β Collaboration: Working closely with the Engineering Management, Improvement Engineers, first-line fix managers, the Control Room, and Operational teams to maintain seamless operations.
β Continuous Improvement: Raising Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance equipment performance and overall warehouse efficiency.
β Compliance & Safety: Upholding world-class standards in security, health and safety, regulatory compliance, and housekeeping.
β Reporting: Ensuring accurate shift/breakdown reports are completed, contributing to ongoing improvements in our engineering services.
What you\βll need to have
β Qualifications: A time-served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least a Level 2 qualification in the other.
β Experience: Proven experience in a similar electro-mechanical engineering field.
β Skills & Abilities:
o Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
o Ability to work at height.
o Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
o A \βRight First Time\β approach to all tasks, ensuring efficiency and high-quality work.
o Motivation to lead and motivate others within the team.
