Our client is looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to lead and embed continual improvement and business change across our Engineering Services operations. This is a high-impact role with real influence - shaping how they work today and how they improve for the future.
About The Role
As Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be the driving force behind the company's continuous improvement strategy. Using Lean, Six Sigma and structured change methodologies, you will identify opportunities, lead improvement initiatives, and ensure sustainable results that align with the business strategy and values. You will work closely with senior leaders, engineers, and operational teams to simplify processes, improve performance, and build capability - ensuring continuous improvement becomes part of the everyday culture, not just a project.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and governing continuous improvement initiatives aligned to strategic objectives
- Identifying and delivering performance improvements across the business using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping and related tools
- Owning change initiatives end-to-end, from opportunity identification through delivery and benefits realisation
- Delivering and managing Lean Six Sigma training, mentoring teams and developing internal CI champions
- Engaging with leaders and frontline teams to identify opportunities using KPIs, dashboards and operational insight
- Embedding a strong, sustainable culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organisation
- Managing risks, dependencies, governance, and post-implementation reviews to ensure successful outcomes
- Monitoring effectiveness of improvement activities and reporting on progress and impact
- Staying connected to continuous improvement best practice within the wider rail industry
Experience Required
You’ll be a confident change leader with the credibility to influence across a technically demanding, safety-focused environment.
Experience & qualifications:
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt / Lean (or equivalent)
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the rail industry - advantageous
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within health & safety-critical environments
- Strong understanding of governance, change management and structured improvement delivery
