SF Engineering are currently supporting a Manufacturing business based in the Midlands with over 150 years of history who are looking for a Plant Quality Engineer. Priding themselves in being one of the UK's most experienced Automotive pressings manufacturers.
The Plant Quality Engineer will support all necessary activities to improve quality, minimise costs and drive improvements to support business and customer satisfaction. Responsible for supporting quality issues and for required participation to ensure zero impact to customers.
You will be part of a team who are expected to demonstrate the following skills:
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system - IATF & ISO
- Report key performance indicators in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity related products
- Lead quality-related issues for internal, supplier and customer concerns
- Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues using proven methodology such as 8D and supporting tools
- CMM application and CMM programming knowledge would be advantageous
- Assist NPI team with new product introduction and supporting activities
Experience required to be successful in the Plant Quality Engineer role:
- Proven experience in fast paced manufacturing organisation
- Proven problem solving ability using known techniques - 8D, 5 Why etc
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Understanding of quality systems
- Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
The role offers a starting salary of £45,000 with additional company benefits including pension, performance bonus etc. The position is working days with an early finish on a Friday.
