You'll sit within the Commercial Finance function; this role acts as a strategic partner to the Customer Finance and commercial teams. It plays a central role in strengthening financial decision-making, governance and value creation across customer initiatives and investments. You will be instrumental in embedding strong planning processes, improving performance visibility and ensuring disciplined investment decisions. By leading key cycles such as annual planning, monthly reviews and risk & opportunity tracking, the role supports delivery of insightful analysis, robust controls and better commercial outcomes.
A bit more about the day to day:
- Take ownership of financial performance across assigned customer areas, analysing results from top-line sales through to margin, identifying trends, risks and opportunities, and recommending actions.
- Maintain a strong financial control framework, ensuring governance across pricing, trade spend and customer agreements, alongside effective balance sheet management.
- Translate customer strategies into Joint Business Plans, ensuring investment decisions are aligned to sustainable revenue and profit growth.
- Support the development of Annual Operating Plans, partnering closely with commercial teams to shape assumptions around volume, pricing and customer investment.
- Drive financial rigour and accuracy, proactively managing pricing discrepancies, claims and deductions in collaboration with central finance teams.
- Lead monthly performance reviews with Customer Leads, delivering clear insights versus prior forecast, Annual Operating Plans and previous year, explaining key variances.
- Monitor and manage Risks & Opportunities, ensuring issues are identified early, clearly communicated and supported with actionable plans.
- Work with commercial stakeholders to assess and prioritise in-year growth opportunities, providing financial analysis to support decision-making.
A little bit about you:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
- Demonstrated experience within FMCG
- Experience operating in a PLC environment
- Strong interest in performance analysis, forecasting and driving business outcomes
- Able to work effectively across teams and challenge constructively where required
- Ideally 5 years post qualification experience as a minimum
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights.
