An established and growing specialist contractor operating across industrial, infrastructure and construction sectors is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor or Junior QS to join their commercial team based in Nottinghamshire. With a strong pipeline of UK-wide projects, including major London redevelopment schemes, this is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced QS seeking a long-term opportunity within a growing business, or a junior/intermediate-level candidate looking to develop and progress within a supportive and experienced team.
The Role
- Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will support the commercial delivery of multiple live projects across the UK.
- Managing project costs, valuations, and final accounts.
- Preparing applications for payment.
- Managing and identifying variations and extra works.
- Reviewing contracts and understanding project scope.
- Supporting budgets, spreadsheets, and cost reporting.
- Working closely with operational and client teams.
- Assisting with commercial management across multiple live contracts.
- Helping drive profitability and project success.
A key aspect of the role will be identifying contractual scope versus additional works, ensuring variations are properly tracked, costed, and commercially managed throughout project delivery.
About You
- Quantity Surveying or commercial experience within construction, industrial services or specialist contracting.
- A basic understanding of construction contracts and variations.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- A proactive and team-focused approach.
- Good Excel and spreadsheet management skills.
- Experience within specialist subcontracting, refurbishment or redevelopment projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
