Role Purpose: To support the end-to-end development, validation, and launch of new and existing products, ensuring they meet defined requirements for compliance, performance, quality, and commercial readiness.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Product Development (New & Existing Products):
- Support product development activities from concept through to commercialisation.
- Contribute to identification and evaluation of new product opportunities and product extensions.
- Review product compliance requirements and associated testing standards.
- Design and execute prototype testing to assess performance, durability, and operational limits.
- Analyse test data and produce technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including specifications, drawings, bills of materials, manuals, and service documentation.
- Define critical spare parts requirements and support stock level calculations based on usage data.
- Conduct product inspections and quality checks during pre-launch and launch phases.
- Produce technical support materials including user guides, troubleshooting documentation, and training content.
- Identify product improvement opportunities, accessory development potential, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:
- Support implementation and maintenance of product information systems and technical databases.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements within technical workflows.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance of testing equipment.
- Support optimisation of spare parts storage and inventory systems.
- Assist with inbound and outbound product quality inspections.
- Conduct root cause analysis of product failures and performance issues.
- Produce non-conformance reports and support corrective and preventative actions.
- Review final inspection reports to ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Internal and External Collaboration:
- Provide technical input to Purchasing on supplier queries, packaging requirements, and supply chain resilience.
- Support Marketing and Product functions with technical content for product literature and sales materials.
- Assist Customer Experience teams with resolution of technical product issues.
- Provide technical briefings and support documentation to Service teams.
- Support Sales teams and provide technical input at trade shows and customer events as required.
General Responsibilities:
- Work in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements and internal procedures.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties.
