SF Partners are partnered with a leading listed business who are looking to hire a Group Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance team on a permanent contract.
Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting, this is a high-profile role responsible for supporting complex corporate transactions, technical accounting matters and the delivery of high-quality external financial reporting across the Group.
Location: London
Hybrid working, with occasional travel between UK offices.
Key responsibilities include;
- Analyse complex and non-BAU transactions, including corporate transactions, M&A activity, discontinued operations and Group restructurings.
- Provide technical accounting support across areas including revenue recognition, defined benefit pensions and consolidation accounting.
- Support the preparation and delivery of half-year and full-year statutory financial statements under IFRS for a listed business.
- Act as a key point of contact for the Group's external auditors, coordinating the audit process and delivering technical accounting requirements to tight deadlines.
- Prepare technical accounting papers and presentations for senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee, providing clear conclusions and recommendations.
- Maintain financial integrity across entities within the Group's shared business area, including period-end reviews and non-BAU accounting matters.
- Lead the implementation of IFRS 18, assessing the impact on financial statements and working closely with finance systems teams.
- Maintain and update the Group accounting policy manual, including drafting new and revised accounting policies.
- Provide technical guidance across IFRS and UK GAAP matters to stakeholders across the wider business.
Profile required;
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with relevant post-qualified experience.
- Previous experience auditing listed businesses within practice, or significant financial reporting experience within a listed organisation.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience across business combinations, consolidation accounting and revenue recognition.
- Strong external reporting and statutory accounting experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting matters clearly to finance, commercial and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight reporting deadlines.
