SF Engineering are currently working with an Automotive manufacturing business who are looking to hire a Metrology Engineer. This is a vital role within the business to ensure standards aren't dropped and maintained throughout the business at all times. The purpose of the role is to measure and test products to verify and validate their conformance to specification. You'll develop measurement techniques, MSA and create measurement programs and test procedures for products. Undertaking dimensional investigations and analysis of metrology data to improve tooling and processes.

Responsibilities of the Metrology Engineer will include:

  • Measurements of production & NPI parts using contact and non-contact CMM's
  • Development of measurement techniques for production and quality control
  • Inputting into gauge concepts and design
  • Creating measurement programs for contact and non-contact CMM's
  • Undertaking PPAP & Annual layout inspections
  • Ensure compliance to and maintenance of IATF16949, ISO9001 & ISO13485

Previous experience and technical skills required in the role:

  • Experience of working in a metrology laboratory environment
  • Good working knowledge of IATF
  • CMM programming
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric dimensioning tolerancing
