An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based in Coventry.

Operating within a specialist heavy manufacturing environment, our client supplies engineered products into a variety of industrial sectors and continues to invest heavily in UK operations and production capability. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting a broad range of machinery and equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit engineering team and take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.

The Role

This role is heavily focused on maintaining production equipment, with approximately 90% machinery maintenance and 10% facilities support. You will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, reducing downtime and supporting production through proactive and reactive maintenance activities. This position would suit someone with a strong electrical background and previous experience working with CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across site machinery
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
  • Fault find on motors, drives, sensors and control systems
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Assist with minor facilities maintenance when required
  • Work independently and effectively prioritise workload
Experience RequiredEssential
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
  • Qualified electrical maintenance background
  • Previous manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong CNC machinery experience
  • Multi-skilled maintenance capability (electrical and mechanical)
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work autonomously

  • PLC fault-finding experience
  • Heavy engineering or machining environment background
