Are you an experienced operations leader with a background in rental, industrial services, or asset-based environments? We are recruiting for a Rental Manager UK to lead and develop a high-performing rental operation, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for depot operations, rental fleet performance, workshop activities, team management, and service delivery. You'll play a key role in supporting business growth while driving continuous improvement across the department.

We're looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation, leading from the front and taking ownership of performance. The Role

As Rental Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the UK rental operation, ensuring equipment, people, and processes are operating efficiently and safely while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop depot and rental operations to maximise efficiency and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes and service delivery.
  • Ensure fleet readiness, maintenance planning, asset utilisation, and inventory control.
  • Oversee workshop operations, equipment testing, refurbishment, and turnaround times.
  • Maintain full compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage operational KPIs, service levels, and business performance metrics.
  • Support successful project delivery through effective resource and logistics planning.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to create a high-performance culture.
  • Work closely with sales, engineering, fleet, and logistics teams to support business growth.

About You

  • Proven experience in an operational leadership or management role.
  • Background within rental, industrial services, power solutions, or asset-based operations.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing workshops, technical teams, fleets, or operational assets.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Commercially aware with a focus on operational performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Organised, hands-on, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive individual who enjoys solving problems and implementing improvements.
  • Someone who leads by example, takes accountability, and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed.
