The Field Service Engineer role is key to ensuring the brand is highly regarded through world class service support and maintenance of our products. The candidate must be willing to work in various and sometimes challenging environments, from well-equipped workshops to remote sites while still maintaining a consistent level of support to the customer.
Candidate Profile
- City & Guilds Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) as a minimum
- IMI Level 3 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle maintenance preferable
- Multi-disciplined capability - mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Background in field service and engineering
- Diesel/Electric PSV experience preferable
- Excellent diagnostic capabilities
- Good IT skills
- Experience with relevant industry diagnostic software programs
- Full UK driving license
Key Tasks
- Field Service support for all commercial vehicle products - Diesel, Electric and Hybrid
- Carry out diagnostic and repairs at customer and third-party sites
- Carry out major unit replacements including transmissions, e-motors, inverters, etc.
- Support new product introductions
- Provide root cause analysis where required
- Support product specialists and development teams
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and their representatives
- Liaise with Management, H&S and project teams on any issues arising in the day-to-day business
- Work with customers to minimise downtime of assets
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner
- Maintain company vehicle in line with company policy
- Monitor and control stock levels within individual depot/van
- May need to work unsociable hours to meet business needs
- May need to work reasonable additional hours to meet business needs
- Undertake product specific training when requested
- Carry out any reasonable task or request that is consistent with the overall scope of the role
