Are you looking for a genuinely autonomous HR role where you can take ownership, shape processes, and make a real impact? This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional ready to step into a standalone generalist position supporting a growing, multi-site organisation. Occasional travel within the UK, roughly once a month or every other month.
You will work closely with senior leadership, acting as the first point of contact for all HR matters and playing a key role in improving employee experience across the full lifecycle. You will have the space to develop, take ownership of processes, and influence change, while benefiting from support where needed. If you are interested, there is the option to continue your development with CIPD Level 5, which would be fully funded.
What you will have ownership of:
- Being the first point of contact for HR
- Acting as the trusted HR contact for employees and managers
- Providing balanced, practical guidance on day-to-day people matters
- Supporting managers with issues relating to wellbeing, attendance, conduct, and performance
Creating smooth people experience:
- Leading the full journey for new starters, from preparing documentation to delivering engaging introductions to the organisation
- Maintaining momentum during probation and ensuring managers feel confident handling next steps
- Helping shape a welcoming, consistent onboarding experience
Enabling a high performance workforce:
- Keeping training and qualification records relevant and accurate
- Helping identify knowledge gaps and supporting planning for future development needs
- Contributing to an environment where learning and growth are encouraged
Championing strong people data:
- Ensuring employee information and documentation is accurate
- Tracking people metrics such as retention and absence, turning data into clear insights for leadership
- Carrying out exit conversations and spotting patterns that can drive improvements
Supporting a positive culture:
- Coordinating short, regular employee feedback surveys and helping turn insights into meaningful action
- Reviewing people policies to ensure they remain up to date, relevant, and easy to understand
- Contributing ideas that make the employee experience better
Be a key partner to leadership:
- Working closely with senior leadership on people focused initiatives
- Bringing a proactive, solutions focused mindset
- Playing a central role in helping shape and support the organisation's people agenda
Essential experience needed:
- CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
- Experience in a generalist HR role supporting the full employee lifecycle
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident advising managers and supporting HR cases
- High attention to detail and strong organisation skills
- Ability to work independently, handle sensitive information, and use initiative
