SF Partners are working with a fantastic charity based in Birmingham. They are looking for an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join a complex and purpose-driven organisation, working closely with the SLT. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring robust financial reporting, strong financial controls and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
You'll play a central role in the smooth running of the financial accounting function, while also helping to shape and improve systems, processes and ways of working.
Key tasks:
- You'll take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting activities, working closely with colleagues across Finance, operational teams and senior stakeholders. - Leading accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting. - Owning balance sheet reconciliations and key control accounts, ensuring strong financial control. - Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements. - Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and acting as a key contact for internal and external auditors. - Providing technical accounting advice and guidance across the Finance function. - Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring effective controls and high service standards. - Supporting treasury management, cash-flow monitoring and financial planning. - Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial systems and data. - Identifying opportunities to improve controls, processes, reporting and efficiency. - Playing an active role in finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. - Leading, coaching and developing finance team members, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment. - Building strong relationships with budget holders, operational leaders and senior stakeholders.
