Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking to develop your experience within a modern, highly automated environment? We are recruiting for Maintenance Engineers to join an established engineering support team at a newly operational, state-of-the-art automated facility in Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased Engineer, or a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, who enjoys practical maintenance, fault-finding and working with automated equipment. With the site having recently gone live, the engineering team is currently focused on planned preventative maintenance, system reliability and supporting the continued development of the operation. As production volumes increase, there will be further opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and become involved in more complex maintenance activities.
The Role
Working as part of an on-site engineering team providing 24/7 support, you will be responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of automated equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), including inspections, servicing, adjustments, and component replacements.
- Responding to equipment faults, identifying issues, and carrying out repairs or system resets to minimise downtime.
- Supporting the ongoing development and reliability of newly installed automation systems.
- Recording maintenance activities, faults, and spare parts usage accurately through the CMMS.
- Assisting with the management and organisation of engineering spares.
- Working closely with the wider operational team to ensure equipment availability and performance.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities as the site develops and operational volumes increase.
What We're Looking For
We are keen to speak with Maintenance Engineers who have a practical, hands-on approach and enjoy working in a structured maintenance environment. Ideally, you will have:
- A Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
- Previous experience working in a maintenance engineering position within an industrial, manufacturing, logistics or automated environment.
- Experience carrying out planned maintenance, basic fault-finding and mechanical or electrical repairs.
- An understanding of automated systems, conveyors, material handling equipment, or similar machinery would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining equipment reliability.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- Flexibility to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern.
- Experience within automation or materials handling would be particularly beneficial, although we are equally interested in engineers from other maintenance backgrounds who are keen to develop within this environment.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Panama shift pattern (3-2-2), offering regular extended breaks and a long weekend every other week.
- Opportunity to work with modern, advanced automation technology.
- A newly operational site with ongoing investment and development.
- Structured planned maintenance activities alongside reactive engineering support.
- Training and opportunities to further develop your technical capabilities.
- A supportive engineering team and the opportunity to play a key role as the operation continues to grow.
