We are recruiting an Interim Project Financial Controller to join a business in Burton upon Trent and take a lead role in driving a significant UK audit project through to completion. Working closely with the UK finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the FY25 UK audit, managing the process from commencement through to sign-off and ensuring momentum is maintained throughout. This is a high-profile assignment with considerable stakeholder exposure. You will act as the key point of contact for the external auditors, while working closely with the UK Finance team. Key responsibilities: Take day-to-day ownership of the FY25 UK audit process Manage the relationship and deliverables with the external auditors Coordinate audit requirements across UK finance teams Ensure information, schedules and supporting documentation are delivered accurately and on time Identify and resolve issues that could delay the audit Work closely with senior finance stakeholders in both the UK Bring structure, pace and accountability to the overall audit process Provide hands-on technical accounting support where required About you We are looking for an ACA-qualified accountant with a strong audit background. You could currently be an Audit Manager in practice looking for an opportunity to move into industry, or an established Interim Financial Controller / Finance Director with significant audit and technical accounting experience. You will need to be technically strong, confident dealing with senior stakeholders and external auditors, and comfortable taking ownership of a challenging project where delivery and momentum are key. This is an excellent interim assignment for someone who enjoys getting into a business, taking ownership of a defined project and making an immediate impact.
