We are working with a well-established international manufacturing business that operates multiple production facilities across the UK and globally. The company produces specialist high-performance products used across a range of commercial and public environments and is known for its focus on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
Due to continued investment and development at their Derbyshire manufacturing site, they are looking to recruit an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team. You will be working within a team of engineers supporting a busy manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment reliability and helping to drive improvements across the site.
The Role
The position involves maintaining a wide range of manufacturing equipment and supporting the site's shift from reactive maintenance to a more proactive, reliability-focused approach. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance across production equipment
- Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues within manufacturing machinery
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
- Conducting routine inspections, servicing and repairs on equipment
- Ensuring all maintenance work is carried out in line with health and safety standards
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and resolve issues efficiently
- Supporting site improvement projects and equipment upgrades
- Monitoring and improving maintenance performance metrics such as MTTR and MTTF
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- A time-served mechanical or electrical maintenance apprenticeship (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- At least 4 years' experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience including:
- Welding
- Machine shop work
- Pipe fitting
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Experience with fault finding and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of steam systems (desirable)
- Experience working with planned preventative maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Good IT skills including Microsoft systems
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
You must also be comfortable working within a structured maintenance environment, following risk assessments, safe systems of work and lockout/tagout procedures.
