Service Engineer
West Midlands - HQ Based Worcestershire (candidate located within 2 hours)
£45,000 - £50,000 + company vehicle
SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Service Engineer to work for our client who are a world leader in their industry, they specialize in racking systems for storage.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with extensive travel throughout the UK including overnight stays.

The role will involve opportunities to travel to Europe visiting customer sites and head office.

The service engineer's role is varied but in the main is responsible for the following key areas:

  • Tests of shuttle systems & mobile racks.
  • Repairs of shuttle systems & mobile racks.
  • Supervision of assembly teams for large repairs of mobile racks.
  • Commissioning and providing customer training for automated systems.
  • Preventive maintenance (triggered by service contracts).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced electromechanical engineer, ideally degree educated in an appropriate discipline, alternatively an equivalent level of competency gained from experience in the field.

Interaction with our client's customers is a key part of the role and as such the ideal candidate should have strong communication skills as well as have strong IT skills and be familiar with using MS Office programmes, particularly Excel.

You have a bachelor's degree or vocational qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent through experience.

Computer skills: MS Office and Teams You are sociable, eager to learn and drive with strong customer mindset. xgikmsk Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in customer settings Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams Knowledge of and interest in diverse technical topics, including software, hardware, robotics and mechanics Approx 60% travel is required with this role Since many of our mobile racking applications are installed in cold stores, candidates should be prepared to work in such environments.
