The role of Finance Business Partner includes:

  • Partnering with senior finance, technical and programme stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Providing regular reporting and analysis on project performance, risks, opportunities and cost drivers.
  • Monitoring project budgets across multiple programmes.
  • Supporting financial planning, customer invoicing and commercial analysis.
  • Taking ownership of the annual budgeting process for the engineering function.
  • Leading periodic forecasting activities and identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing and presenting financial insight to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Improving financial processes, reporting tools and data quality.
  • Supporting financial awareness across non-finance teams.

The ideal Finance Business Partner will be a fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or commercial finance role. They should have strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience, the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders, and be able to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences. Experience in automotive, engineering, manufacturing or technical environments is highly advantageous, as is previous project accounting experience.

Reporting into the Finance Director, this is a high-profile role where you will play a key part in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring strong financial governance across multiple programmes and engineering projects. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing timely financial insight, challenge and analysis to support both operational and strategic objectives.
