We are seeking a reliable and organised Warehouse Operator to support daily warehouse and transportation operations. The role involves coordinating vehicle movements, managing loading schedules, and ensuring efficient communication between drivers, warehouse staff, and the operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that inbound and outbound shipments are handled efficiently and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse and Yard Coordination: Coordinate daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure smooth loading and unloading activities. Manage vehicle arrival schedules and allocate loading bays efficiently. Ensure goods are prepared and dispatched according to operational plans and delivery schedules.
- Transport Scheduling: Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and the warehouse team to arrange timely collection and delivery of goods. Monitor vehicle movements and loading progress to minimise delays. Ensure dispatch activities align with daily operational requirements.
- System and Data Management: Update shipment and dispatch information in internal systems such as WMS (Warehouse Management System) or TMS (Transport Management System). Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound shipments. Identify and respond to operational issues such as delays, missing shipments, or scheduling conflicts. Communicate with relevant teams to resolve problems and maintain operational continuity.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all dispatch activities comply with company procedures and warehouse safety standards. Follow relevant UK health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, or dispatching is preferred. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and handle multiple tasks. Basic knowledge of warehouse or transport management systems (WMS/TMS) is an advantage. Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
