The LLCCDC is a community led organisation that serves to promote the economic, social, cultural and environmental well-being of the Lybster, Latheron and Clyth communities. Established in 2006, they are managed by locally elected directors and the group has circa 100 members alongside the support of a number of volunteers. Together they act to both identify and act on pressing local issues while encouraging community participation and engagement. They also manage community land and assets.
Joining them as Centre Manager you will manage the day to day running of the organisation and its projects. This will include a focus on managing budgets and funding applications, networking with the community, end-to-end project management and dealing with day-to-day enquiries.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the board to advance company aims and goals
- Prepare, deliver and report to the board on a regular basis covering budgets, finances, project updates and any community asset transfers
- Develop funding applications and grant forms on behalf of the LLCCDC
- Assist community groups with funding applications and projects
- Administer, monitor and evaluate courses being run for the community
- Identify potential community partnerships and collaborate with local groups to develop educational opportunities and improve use of community resource facilities
- Develop and introduce new services and activities that meet the needs of the local community
- Organise and oversee the upkeep and maintenance of Seaview house and grounds, the Lybster community toilets and the community toolshed
- Manage a small team of staff and activity/project volunteers
To carry out this role they are seeking a pro-active individual with a passion for community inclusion who is happy to work with minimal supervision. You will also need to demonstrate past experience in community networking, project management, budget management and financial reporting. Experience generating and managing grant funding is key though they are open to applications from those without direct experience in this area who can instead demonstrate transferable skills.
A valid driving license is also required as is access to transport enabling you to attend meetings around the county beneficial to your role. Please note employment for this role will be on the basis of a 12-month Fixed Term Contract and extended annually as each year’s funding is confirmed. The intention is for the role to be taken on long term basis, by someone passionate about working on behalf of the local community. You will be contracted to work 35 hours per week and will spend most of these onsite at Seaview house in Lybster keeping the facility open for public use and your office open for drop-in appointments. Requests for fixed hybrid work arrangements can be considered for this role.
